Towards a new closing affirmation
In relation to our current 12 Steps, what are the most important ingredients for a closing affirmation for this meeting?
Our closing affirmation has served us well. But now that we have a new 12 Steps, the focus of of the group has expanded a bit. Today we share on our ideas for a new or modified closing affirmation that reflects our new 12 Steps.
Current closing affirmation:
Knowing I am autistic, I can learn to distinguish between harmful mistakes I should make amends for, and autistic traits I’m not to blame for. If anyone has harmed me in any way, I know how to self-care and set boundaries in ways which suit me, even when those ways are not intuitive to others. If a situation is unmanageable right now, I trust in myself, the autistic community, and the world to show me strengths beyond my current awareness as time goes by.
