Can self-esteem be seasonal?
For me, I think the answer is yes. I tend to feel better about myself at certain
times of year for various reasons. Summers are difficult for me because dressing
for the weather makes me confront my poor body image, and I feel like a weakling
for how badly I cope with routine changes (I'm a teacher). Overwhelm from the
heat and sun exacerbate any other self-esteem issues that might be occurring. On
the other hand, I love winter, because I get to ski, a lifelong passion I'm
pretty good at, and the routine around teaching is my anchor. Has anyone else here
experienced anything like this?
